STOP 'SHOWING YOURSELF'

Actually, 'showing yourself' is an idiomatic expression for putting yourself forward to over-display what you are or what you are not, quite often what you are not.

Whichever one, it is a self setup that might cause you some personal mishap. People tend to overestimate others and many like it; it feeds their ego and pride, very dangerous. Once you allow others to place you on a pedestal or you place yourself on a pedestal higher than what you are or can do, you will be living a fake or borrowed life. You will be committing slow but certain suicide. It is in your best interest to always dress your size, talk your size and live your size. Instantly reject any honour or level beyond the real or what you can cope with. People will always accept you for who you really are and all will be well with you. Don't claim to be able to do what you cannot do, what if they ask you to come and do it. Don't display wealth or affluence you do not have and never live a competitive life, it will suffocate you. If you have a car, drive it. If not, walk. No big deal. Stop borrowing cars to 'show yourself'. Be real, let those who wish to go, go, keep your peace of mind. Don't attempt to overstretch or overreach yourself, you have no business proving anything to anybody. This error is a major reason many have done things that have destroyed them; they wanted to draw by force what their hands cannot reach. Live your real size, not a fake size.

This is why we must all learn from the mistake of agent Kein.

Kein was a 'show yourself ' girl. She like claiming to be  what she is not. This has been her character from childhood. Other kids applauded her boasting and she enjoyed it. She claimed her parents were rich and connected, though they were not, her friends believed and feared her. That lie made her get away with many things, they didn't want her to tell her parents bad things about them. She flaunts any new clothes she wears, claiming she has loads of them she is yet to touch or wear, though she has just a few dresses. Whenever any little money comes her way, she spend it carefreely with display claiming there are still more where that one came from. She even once claimed to have spiritual powers; fellow students and teachers feared her for this and avoided getting into trouble with her. She enjoyed it all. One day, a girl mistakenly nearly bumped into her, Kein was fast enough to move sideways to avoid the collision, this caused her to nearly slip, but she still managed to regain her balance before hitting the floor. It looked like a karate move and some girls clapped for her. Noticing this, she started claiming it is no big deal since she started learning karate from 5yrs of age (a lie), she is now 17yrs. All believed her and fearfully kept out of her way, though she had no clue what karate is. Nobody attempted to fight her. Word spread; Kein is a karate kid. She Let it spread. She enjoyed the show.

Well, years passed and she grew into an adult. Her karate prowess reputation stuck to her. She had even forgotten it was a lie. To scare a few folks once in a while, she will move her hands up and down quite rapidly calling it "acura style of fighting" (she coined it). No one understood what it meant, but it scared them. Pink, her friend that revered her, encouraged her to join the Police and use her skills to catch criminals. Kein felt elated and proceeded to join the Police. She had studied computer science and graduated. The Police needed a staff for their office computers. She did not mention her fake karate prowess though. Being a young woman, they trained her in a simple way and placed her in office work to attend to online and offline issues. She was not trained for combat or field operations. She was not employed for that purpose. She kept 'showing herself' once in a while, but no one took notice of her. The Police is too busy to notice that.

One very nice and good man called Mr Toks, saw through her lies, knew she knew no karate but was lying. He feared for her knowing someone might one day challenge her, especially being a Police officer now known as "agent Kein". He spoke to her one day and said : "agent Kein, agent Kein, agent Kein, how many times did I call you ?" Kein replied "three times". Nice Mr Toks continued, "I know you cannot fight but just shooting your mouth, this is risky. I advice you go for karate classes to learn basic self defence for your own sake". Kein didn't like the advice, she kept on claiming she need no more training since she was already a karate expert. The very good and well behaved Mr Toks tried to reason with her, but she stood her ground.

Well, time passed, Kein was transferred to another station understaffed with field operatives and was asked to help out on the field once in a while to catch real street tough and hard boiled criminals. Other Police officers asked if she could fight, they wanted to be sure before exposing her to real danger, she smiled and said "I am a karate expert and can take ten men at once in any combat ". With that, everyone was happy and took her out on field operations. It was no big deal, her Police uniform made criminals easily submit to arrest without a fight, some criminals didn't want to fight a woman, might reduce their status in the underworld.

One day, a call for help came in, a female robber was on the loose, help was needed to apprehend her. No Police officer was around to respond. Kein was less busy and went out in her usual style to apprehend the robber. She was alone. She didn't even go with her service pistol. Unfortunate, the female robber was a fighter, a real karate robber.

She grabbed agent Kein and gave her the beating of her life, it was so bad that Kein started begging for mercy, the robber was already trying to choke her when other Police officers arrived, rescued agent Kein and arrested the robber. Kein's lie was discovered. She went through multiple surgeries at the hospital and spent a few days on admission for treatment of her wounds and bruises. The robber beat her very well. The Police immediately retired her after discharge and let her go with all her entitlement paid.

Today, agent Kein has a computer training facility and does not 'show herself' anymore. She has now become gentle and live an easy going life with her husband called Pem.
