WHY ELDERS STOPPED TELLING LIES
Misty was a very happy, blithesome and lighthearted child, always jumping around, playful and loving everyone. She was a cool kid everyone will love due to her simple and carefree nature. Her father loved her. Uvid was his name. Misty was his last child among his five children.
The meeting was to hold at his house. All his grown kids were away except Misty. He called Misty and gave her the following instructions ; "two people are coming here today to see me, I will be across the street in a restaurant, I don't want to see them yet. I want them to wait for some time for me to return and after getting tired of waiting they will leave to return another day. They will return because they need me. Do not tell them where I am, simply tell them I had to quickly go somewhere to see someone also interested in what they came for, understand ? " Misty was a smart girl and quickly said "I understand ". Uvid continued, "just let them sit and give them those drinks in the refrigerator to refresh, okay ? ". Misty replied "okay daddy". Misty carefully memorised all the instructions because she dearly loved her dad and always want to do what he says to the letter. A good child. Uvid left the house and went to sit at the restaurant waiting for his plan to work out.
His two guests arrived as scheduled and Misty welcomed them with her usual cheerfulness. One is called Mr Bean and the other Mr Bond. Misty, a good girl, offered them seats as instructed, opened the refrigerator and gave them the drinks her father had earlier kept there for them. She then proceeded to deliver her father's message she had earlier memorised. She delivered the message word for word : "my daddy said two people are coming here today to see me, I will be across the street in a restaurant, I don't want to see them yet. I want them to wait for some time for me to return and after getting tired of waiting they will leave to return another day. They will return because they need me. Do not tell them where I am, simply tell them I had to quickly go somewhere to see someone also interested in what they came for...." , Mr Bean and Mr Bond stopped drinking, exchanged glances, smiled at the innocent girl and patted her head. They both stood up. Mr Bean said, "good girl, we understand. We must leave now". They each gave her a penny to buy biscuits and left the house.
They headed straight for the restaurant, went directly to Uvid and took seats directly opposite him. Uvid began to laugh, he was caught. The story went round town, all fathers heard it. Since that time, elders were no more telling lies.

Uvid had a habit of telling lies. Uvid was involved in a business and decided to play his way so as to maximise his gain. Two other people were involved in the business and were to meet with him in his house for business planning. Uvid had an important role to play in the business, having certain connections they needed to make the business work. He calculated that if he goes straight with the two partners and give them all they needed as links and contacts, he will look cheap and might not be able to access a huge chunk of the profit, though the two partners were to provide most of the funding. By right, the profit ought to have been shared 70% for the two partners and 30% for him. He knew that was the practice, but decided to play them and get most of the profit. He devised a plan. He will play hard to get, make them desperate, wait a bit for them to tire out and then when they are vulnerable to him he will then, in a reluctant manner, appear to want to help them and ask them to first accept his terms before they proceed. He had used the plan before in previous business deals and had his way. No big deal.
